Nomads in the Media
A summary of some of the local and national news coverage related to Killinghall Nomads and our fantastic members (and International Superstar Footballers!).
CONTINUED SUPPORT FOR YAA
On 3rd February 2024, Killinghall Nomads U6 players and Nomads legend Chris Dixon presented the giant ceremonial cheque to Jane Horrod, Community Fundraiser at Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
These funds came from our 2023 6-a-side tournament where volunteers from YAA assisted with car parking to help the whole event run smoothly.
This continues the clubs ongoing support for the charity.
THE RACHEL DALY PITCH NAMING
On 5th October 2023, we welcomed Rachel Daly back to Killinghall Moor, this time to unveil the pitch named in her honour.
Joined by representatives from FA, The Football Foundation, press and other "VIPs", Rachel was greeted by a small gathering of Nomads at her former grassroots club.

LOCAL HERO LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT FINALIST
We were delighted to learn that our very own Nomads Legend Chris Dixon (pictured with fellow Nomads Legend Rachel Daly) was named as a finalist for the Harrogate Local Hero Lifetime Achievement award.
Winners are announced on 3rd November 2023, but win or not it goes to show what a massive impact Chris has on his community - we couldn't be prouder.

MAISIE ADAM - Comedian tells of time as Nomad on BBC Radio 4 show
In her recent BBC Radio 4 comedy show Maisie spoke of her time playing for Killinghall Nomads, and it's as brilliant and hilarious as you would expect from the 2017 So You Think You're Funny winner.

Another former Nomad having great success and sharing some of the spotlight with the club. Well done and thank you, Maisie.

During the 2023 Women's World Cup, where Lionesses narrowly missed out in the final, the world was keen to speak to us about our links to Rachel and we were happy to oblige.

Whether it was on radio (BBC Radio York), TV (This Morning, ITV Calendar, BBC Look North) or YouTube - Nomads players and officials touched up their make-up and told the world how proud we are of Rachel.
